Hi All Readers, Followers and Friends
Welcome to my first Author's Blog.
Finally, digital pen to paper winging its way to you.
About the Author. (Add some photos – some where)
I am an inveterate traveller who has lived, worked and travelled around the world for the past 35 years. The ticket that allowed me to do this was teaching English as a second language. Not that I ever wanted to be a teacher, yet it allowed me to fulfil my real DREAM of travelling. I have lived in the Middle East, Far East, South America, Europe and North America.
Teaching, in turn, brought me to writing. As along the way, I was asked to give classes in writing skills. Friends too, when they heard all my wonderful travel stories, the experiences of where I had lived, and what I had seen, encouraged me to write a book. Travelling around the world as solo female traveller is my up and coming book and will be in print next year. I am also undertaking to compile my travel memoirs. Both these publications aim to share my years of insights and understandings.
In 2017, I published my first book titled: “Loving Who I Am: A Journey to the Heart”. This was the epilogue of me moving to Montreal, Canada and making enormous life transitions. I studied Holistic Medicine and Natural Health in Montreal for five years learning different types of body, energy, and spiritual work. At the same time, I trained in Toronto for six years in Shamanic Practice and Traditions. By 2007 I had set up my own clinic, school and centre under the name of “Going Beyond” to share the knowledge and teachings I had acquired.

2010 was a crossroad year for me when a number of life challenges occurred, which led me to sitting down and starting to write “Loving Who I Am”. This book took me on an incredible journey into and about myself for seven years. “Loving Who I Am: A Journey to the Heart” is a personal development and self help guide which shows you how to embrace your life story, reconnect to and heal your heart, and learn to love yourself. I will go into more depth about this book in my next blog – so keep posted. Check out: www.lovingwhoiam.com
This brings us to today in a round about way. Since December 2017, after the publication of my book, I retired from lecturing at the University of Montreal, let go of my apartment of 18 years, sold up all my gear and got back on the road. The objective of moving from Montreal has been to find a new place of abode as the winters are too cold for my body to handle. For three months I roamed New Zealand, will say more about this in Blogs to come. Headed back to Montreal where I crashed for the summer. I had to return to the UK to take care of my father who had broken his ankle and ended up staying in his small, but vibrant town of Faversham, Kent (20 minutes by train to the city of Canterbury) for six months. I then visited Victoria, British Columbia to see if this town was the one, as people had told me it was the warmest place in Canada, but it was not my cuppa’ tea.
I am now back spending the summer in Montreal for a couple of months. This is the time of year my body and being flourish as the weather is deliciously hot. Beginning of September I am heading down to Peru for healing treatment with a Shaman who works with plants and herbs from the Amazon. These adventures and many others I will share with you in Blogs to come. My plans then are to head to the south of Europe to Portugal, in particular the Algarve region, for the coming winter, to see if this is to be my final destination.
